EVERYTHING LINKED HERE

Today's post is all about what to pack in your hospital bag. In my second trimester, I started researching what I needed to pack for the hospital for me and baby. I scrolled for hours watching Tiktok after Tiktok videos, and all the suggestions overwhelmed me, so here is a list of my top essential products; I'm keeping it simple so you are not overwhelmed.

#1 Your Own Pillow.

I have [this king pillow] that I love with [this pillowcase]. Bringing your pillow will make you feel more comfortable in your hospital bed before and after labor! Colton also brought his own too.

#2 A Long Phone Charger

I bought a new pack from Amazon [here] with these chargers [here]. I suggest purchasing these straight from Amazon and putting them into your hospital bag unopened/unused. That way, you don't have to remember to grab yours off the nightstands. I love that these are extra long and can reach from far away!

#3 Comfortable Pajamas

I packed a two-piece pajama set, a long-sleeved top and pants, and a button-down dress. I only wore the dress while at the hospital and the first week I was home. I had a vaginal birth, and for me personally, wearing pants or shorts after was very uncomfortable, so I suggest getting a few nightgowns to wear at the hospital and when you get home.

#4 Nursing Bra

I purchased mine off Amazon, but I've heard great things about the Blush and Bashful brand. I suggest packing two for the hospital - especially if you want to try nursing. I didn't think I would like to breastfeed, but I ended up loving it, so I'm glad I packed them. I also plan on writing my birthing story + a breastfeeding blog post, so stay tuned for those.

#5 Toiletries

I packed as many "mini" products as I could. I hate to unpack my suitcase, and I knew it would take me days to unpack and put things away when I got home from the hospital. Haha, so I packed mini-products, then threw them away at the hospital before going home. For example, I bought a non-electrical toothbrush that I could throw away afterward and left my electric one at home. I had mini body wash, toothpaste, hair ties, perfume, deodorant. I also packed a light makeup bag just in case I wanted to take pictures.

#6 Baby Coming Home Outfit

I bought her a monogrammed onesie off Etsy. The shop is called Skcreationss; she has the cutest outfits in her shop- I highly recommend them. My mom also bought Daphne a barefoot dreams blanket and brought it to the hospital; we still use it to this day. [Linked in my LTK]

I packed but didn't use my portable fan, a "going home" outfit [we got discharged at 10 pm, so I was in my pajamas], and Freeda's mom's postpartum kit. I used what the hospital provided. However, I loved the kit for when I got home.

These aren't essential, but I did bring my Polaroid camera, a regular video camera, and my iPad. I did use all of these at one point, but they aren't necessary. Also, it's not a necessity, but something really sweet to add is having a hospital sign. I got Daphne's off Esty. The shop's name is ClassicSouthernBabes, also highly recommend.

Okay- wow. I was very chatty today and could still go on, but I'll wrap it up. Thank you for reading today's post, and look out for the next one! If you have any questions or want to chat, DM me on Facebook @Emilyandco or comment down below!
