Key West Travel Guide
Colton and I went to Key West for our honeymoon, we were supposed to go to Maui, Hawaii, but due to COVID-19, our plans changed; nevertheless, we had a great time and made terrific memories on the island. I wanted to do a recap post on where we stayed, ate, and what we did on the island.
Where did we stay?
We stayed at Casa Marina Key West, A Waldorf Astoria Resort. If you don't plan on partying every night and want a truly relaxing vacation, this is the hotel for you. Casa Marina is on the opposite side of the island from Duval street (the party street). It is so relaxing it has two pools, a family pool, and a couples pool; they also serve lunch poolside and drinks. The hotel also has its private beach; I hung out there all day while Colton fished. Overall the hotel was accommodating although I do want to note that housekeeping does not come every day, which to us was kind of odd, so we requested maid service every other day, whereas they come every four days.
What did we do?
At Casa Marina, they have a service in the lobby that will help you plan excursions on the island. One day we went on a dolphin tour and snorkeling, then another day we rented jet skis. We also walked around Duval Street, a well-known street with tons of shopping and food. Colton also booked a fishing trip, and he said it was so fun. There is so much to do on the island, but due to COVID, we chose to stay around the hotel for the majority of the trip.
Where did we eat?
Colton and I were talking about this on the way back home. We did not have one bad meal in Key West; everything was so amazing and fresh. I used the Yelp app to help make decisions on where to eat. Here's a list of where we ate.
I highly recommend eating at the Lobster Shack and Misohappy (if you love sushi). At the Lobster Shack, we split the Key West Lobster Roll and Conch Fritters. Oh, Em Gee/ SO GOOD! We ate this on our last day and wished we had discovered it sooner. Misohappy was also so amazing, especially if you love sushi. Colton ordered the Love Key West Roll, and I ordered the Avocado Bomb, and wow, It was so good we came back the next day and ordered the same thing again.
Overall this was such a fantastic trip, and we definitely want to go back one day.
